Tasya, sanjanayan’, harsham’, KuruvrddhH, pitaamahH,
Sinhnaadam’, vinadhya, uchchaiH, shankham’, dadhmau, prtaapvaan’ ||12||

Gita 1.12 Translation

(KuruvrddhH) oldest among Kauravas (prtaapvaan’) highly valiant (pitaamaH) Pitamah Bheeshm (tasya) in that Duryodhan’s heart (harsham’) joy (sanjanayan’) giving rise to (uchchaiH) very loudly (sinhnaadam’) like the roar of a lion (vinadhya) roaring (shankham’) conch shell (dadhmau) blew. (12)

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1 Verse 12

The oldest among Kauravs, highly valiant Bheeshm Pitamah very loudly blew a conchshell, making a sound like the roar of a lion giving rise to joy in Duryodhan’s heart.
